Elite Riders
An elite athlete is a rider currently on the long or short list for the Canadian Team. Eventing Canada[!] are pleased to provide both moral and financial support to these riders in their competitive efforts and training in preparation for international competitions.
We plan to continue our support of those Athletes who have expressed their appreciation of our efforts. Eventing Canada [!] is an amateur athletic association which as an independent supporter of the Olympic Sport of Three Day Event and Horse Trials in Canada.
The Directors and Volunteers of the Association annually organize a spring fundraiser, "imagine (!) ", this year 's event was held at King Community Centre on April 12th, 2003. This kind of activity has allowed us to fund Athletes and clinics with internationally recognized equestrians and Coaches to ensure that the Association's mandate is fulfilled.
Eventing Canada [!] also conducts annual equestrian clinics with international clinicians, which included James Wofford, Patricia Burgess and Lucinda Green in 2003.
The Association also organizes Ride for Riders, a fundraising clinic inviting top Canadian coaches who volunteer their day to teach Riders at all levels, in all disciplines. The proceeds from Ride for Riders are deposited in a fund which is made available to assist injured or disadvantaged Athletes in the Sport. This year, Ride for Riders was held 28 June, 2003 at Glen Oro and Grandview farms in Hawkestone, ON.
